Samuel Eto’o has become embroiled in a diplomatic row with Cameroon’s Sports Minister over the future of head coach Antonio Conceicao as the fallout from the country’s third-place finish Africa Cup of Nations () continues.
Eto’o told Narcisse Mouelle Kombi any decision concerning a managerial change ultimately rested with Cameroon’s Football Association (FECAFOOT), of which he is the president.
Earlier this week, Kombi had told Cameroonian broadcaster CRTV that Conceicao would be in charge for the upcoming international fixtures next month.

‘Every time we have won a trophy, it has been with a foreign coach. What is more important now is the [World Cup] playoffs in March,’ he said.
‘The priority is not to destabilise the team by decapitating it.
‘We are in a phase of rebuilding. When we look at the record under the Conceicao era, we have two defeats out of 23 matches, and 14 matches without conceding a goal.’
After sports Minister Mouelle Kombi said last sunday that Cameroon’s head coach Antonio Conceicao will be in charge of world cup qualifiers in March, kombi Servisi FECAFOOT boss Samuel Etoo has written to him to disagree.
Antonio Conceicao has been in charge of Cameroon since 2019
Eto’o, however, swiftly reminded Cameroon’s Spots Minister that deciding the future of the national team’s manager was not part of his remit.
In a letter addressed to Kombi, the former Barcelona, Chelsea and Inter Milan striker pointed out a presidential decree from 2014 stated that the ‘FECAFOOT is in charge of the administrative, sporting and technical management of Cameroon’s national teams. If you loved this write-up and you would like to obtain far more details with regards to kombi Servisi kindly take a look at our own web site. ‘
He added choosing to continue with Conceicao or appointing a new manager remained a prerogative of the Cameroonian FA and not something the Sports Minister could decide upon.
Eto’o pushed back on Kombi’s suggestion Conceicao will be in charge next month
The Indomitable Lions finished third in the AFCON on home soil earlier this month
Cameroon hosted AFCON for the first time in 50 years last month, but the Indomitable Lions’ hopes of reclaiming the title they last lifted in 2017 came to an end as they lost to Egypt on penalties in the semi-final.
Cameroon eventually finished third after coming back from 3-0 down in the third-place playoff to beat Burkina Faso on penalties, but that wasn’t enough to prevent Conceicao from being heavily criticised in some quarters.
The Portuguese, Kombi Servisi who has been in charge of Cameroon since 2019, kombi Servisi was lambasted for poor tactical decisions and for persisting with what his detractors consider a dull brand kombi servisi of football.
April 14 (Reuters) – Organisers of the Saudi Cup, Kombi Servisi the world’s richest horse race, have said they will withhold the $20 million prize purse pending the completion of an internal investigation after winning trainer Jason Servis was indicted in a doping scheme.
Servis, who trained race winner Maximum Security, Kombi Servisi was one of 27 trainers, veterinarians, drug distributors and others charged in the United States last month in a wide-ranging scheme to drug horses and cheat bettors.
Maximum Security won Saudi Cup in February and the colt’s owner Gary West fired Servis following his indictment, replacing him with Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert.
The Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia (JCSA) said in a statement that its investigation into Servis had been slowed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The JCSA is aware that Jason Servis has been indicted in the US on charges relating to the administration of prohibited substances to horses under his care and control,” the statement said.
“The JCSA is conducting its own investigation into the allegations and until that is concluded, will withhold payment of prize money to all connections of horses placed in prize-winning positions.
“The decision has been communicated privately to connections of Saudi Cup runners.Due to difficult operational circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the investigation is not yet concluded. If you have just about any queries regarding wherever and how you can make use of kombi Servisi, kombi Servisi you are able to call us in our website. “
Maximum Security held off Midnight Bisou to win the Saudi Cup with Benbatl finishing third. The winner was to receive $10 million, with the runner-up and third-placed finisher earning $3.5 million and $2 million.
Servis, who prosecutors say covertly administered performance-enhancing drugs to Maximum Security and “virtually all of the racehorses under his control,” would plead not guilty to the charges, his lawyer has said.
Maximum Security also finished first in the 2019 Kentucky Derby but was later disqualified for interference. (Reporting by Simon Jennings in Bengaluru; Editing by Peter Rutherford )

Building societies are struggling to cope with a huge demand for new accounts from savers hunting for better returns on their nest eggs.
The five biggest societies — Nationwide, Coventry, Yorkshire, Skipton and Leeds — together hold some 90 per cent of the money in the 43 societies.
They have all seen a huge increase in savers looking for new accounts, and have raised rates to as much as 2.85 per cent on easy-access accounts — a best buy from Coventry Building Society — and 3.7 per cent on one-year fixed-rate bonds.

The five biggest building societies – Nationwide, Coventry, Yorkshire, Skipton and Leeds – have all seen a huge increase in savers looking for new accounts
But Money Mail readers have found themselves hanging on for up to an hour when phoning for help with their savings accounts.
Some have also reported waiting more than three weeks to make a withdrawal through the post.
Alan Dunsmore, 80, from Loughborough, Leicestershire, phoned Coventry BS for help in transferring his Isa from National Savings & Investments.
He found himself 109th in the building society’s call queue. He gave up and tried the next day only to find he was still far down at number 79.

HOW THIS IS MONEY CAN HELP
Carol Cumner, 76, from Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, was told there were 111 people in front of her waiting for the society to answer their queries. She held on for an hour and was then cut off.
She says: ‘I immediately rang back to find I was 93rd in the queue. No thanks. I know I could go online but I prefer to speak to someone.’
At Leeds BS, 89-year-old retired wing commander Harold Talton waited nearly three weeks for a cheque to arrive when he requested to withdraw £15,000 from an easy-access postal account he held with the society.
He and his wife needed money to pay for a new boiler, kombi Servisi car repairs and Christmas presents for their six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He tried phoning the society after receiving no response to his letters and withdrawal form, but after being made to wait on the line for 45 minutes, he gave up.
Sam Richards, head of customer service at Coventry BS, Kombi Servisi says: ‘Our contact centre has been exceptionally busy over the past few weeks. We’re very sorry that this has meant longer wait times than usual.
‘The rise in interest rates is, Kombi Servisi at last, giving more people more reason to sort out their savings.’
He adds: ‘We’re recruiting and training more people to answer calls and had 30 new people join us on Monday, with more to come.’
A spokesman for Leeds Building Society says: ‘We are very sorry about the delay Mr Talton experienced following the request to withdraw his money.
‘As savings rates have increased, we have experienced exceptionally high levels of enquiries which we have been working through as quickly as possible.’
Nationwide, Skipton and Yorkshire are also leaving savers hanging on.
At Yorkshire BS a spokesman says: ‘We are currently experiencing an increase in the volume of enquiries and applications we receive, driven strongly by better savings rates.
‘Our average call answer time for November was below five minutes — down from five-and-a-half minutes in October.
‘We are doing all we can to maintain and improve service levels to the standard expected of us.’
A spokesman for Nationwide says: ‘We always do our best to answer member queries as quickly and efficiently as possible.
‘Our latest available data shows that our average speed for answering calls to savings’ members was two minutes.’
A spokesman for Skipton BS says: ‘At the moment, we’re taking around six minutes to answer calls on average.
‘That’s longer than usual, due to a mixture of market-leading savings and mortgage products, as well as more customers seeking help and Kombi Servisi reassurance with what to do with their money or borrowing in light of recent interest rate rises and general market uncertainty.’
This week, Money Mail waited eight minutes on hold before speaking to an adviser at Skipton. We managed to get through to a person at Nationwide after holding on for 13 minutes.
At Coventry we were 67th in the queue.Yorkshire said the wait would be longer than five minutes and we we finally reached a person after 13 minutes. Leeds took 16 minutes to answer.
